See why Rural Environmental Cadastre is important

In 2012, the government instituted all owners to register their rural property in the CAR (Rural Environmental Cadastre). The objective is to form a database with environmental information of the rural properties, which will provide better control, monitoring, environmental and economic planning and combat deforestation.

The registration can be done until December 31, 2017, through the Sicar (National System of Environmental Cadastre). The information sent is evaluated by the State Agency, which grants some benefits to the owners of regularized properties. When there is an intercurrence, the registration can be submitted to rectification and / or forwarded to the PRA (Environmental Regularization Program).

As an FSC® certified company, we respect and support efforts to improve Brazil’s environmental management. Only in this way is it possible to progress, eradicating deforestation, preserving and restoring the fauna and flora of the country.

Carrying out the CAR you can:

• Regulate your property
• Suspension of sanctions for infringements
• Get agricultural credit
• Adhere to agricultural insurance
• To deduct in the tax the Permanent Preservation Areas (1), Legal Reserve (2) and restricted use
• Ease of obtaining financing lines
• Tax exemption for key inputs and equipment

The Forest Code defines two types of protection areas:

1 – Areas of Permanent Preservation: these are natural areas that can not be deforested, cultivated or exploited economically.

2 – Legal Reserve: it is the part of the rural property that must be preserved, following the rules of sustainable forest management.
