High productivity of wood in Brazil raises expectation of production.

An estimate made by the Brazilian Industry Trees (Ibá) indicates that Brazil will double its timber production by 2020 from 7 million hectares of planted forests for 14 million, totaling investments of R$ 53 billion.

Currently, the Brazilian industry of trees is highly productive, considering the amount of wood per hectare planted, favorable weather conditions and the latest technology, always improved by companies in the sector, such as TRC. Added to this, it is the international acceptance and partnership with agencies and researchers.

On average, global consumption of wood per year is US$ 250 billion products. In this scenario, Brazil’s participation is still only 3%. However, in the last three years, the country grew by 6% in the business sector, therefore, the Brazilian market is constantly growing.

According to Ibá, it can be said that a pulp and paper mill is installed in the territory annually, bringing an investment of about R$ 8 billion and healthy planting 100 hundread hectares, equivalent to a production of approximately 1.5 million ton.

In addition, this segment is only ⅓ of the Brazilian market. The other ⅔ are planted forests that are intended to generate energy and civil construction products, such as boards, doors, furniture, flooring, among others.
